My last taste of France before heading home.
My last taste of France before heading home.
The scene of the most expensive meal we've ever had. My glass of champagne
cost 14Euro roughly R140! The next night we ate at McDonald's!
We stopped in Assisi for lunch. It's a stunning medieval town made famous
by St Francis (of Assisi haha). There is a huge church (actually its two
churches built on top of each other) dedicated to him which we visited as
well.
Our hotel in Bologna had a roof top garden with this marvelous view!
We went to the colourful and picturesque island of Burano for lunch today.
It's one of the islands that make up Venice. (To give credit where it's
due this photo was taken by Johan and not me. Not technically allowed for
'my' visual diary but I'm the boss and I say 'Who cares?')
This pic is from the gothic Cathedral in Milan which we toured in time to
see the sun streaming through a pin prick of a hole in the ceiling.
A lunch stop at the Autogrill (garage on the side of the highway) raised
my appreciation for how seriously Italians take food!
A late birthday present to myself a leather bag from Florence (read:
expensive BUT I found it on sale!)
